Not sure if this is still a live thread for suggestions, but I recommend the Jason Fried/37 Signals book, "Rework". It's a brief read, full of thought-provoking and counter-intuitive advice about how to approach problems, decisions, and work process.

If people liked the Derek Sivers book, they will probably like this book, too. (The Sivers book borrows liberally -- knowingly or not -- from this book; the structure and tone are very similar.)
